Dr. Neil Hammerschlag pulling up a 1,000-pound bull shark, one of the largest he’s ever caught. He gave the shark an ID tag and took samples from it so that scientists can learn more about it.

Sharks have inhabited our planet for 450 million years, since before the time of dinosaurs.
